#13 (Free): Three Science Bombshells To Ponder in 2025 / The Mystery Fog
Thursday, 9 January 2025
Happy Thursday My Precious Fellow Traveler!
To prepare for the live newscasts for Paid Subscribers, I’ll be hosting some live-to-tape trials that’ll be available to everyone. It’ll help me get as much feedback/guidance from as many people as possible.
I’m so excited to announce I’ll be joined on these newscasts by three truly exceptional young scientists. Check out the end of this post to learn who they are.
The first trial will premiere simultaneously on all my social media platforms on THURSDAY, 16 JANUARY, at 7 PM CT. Be sure to tune in and participate!
Today we look at:

Three Scientific Bombshells To Ponder in 2025
In my book Amazing Truths, I describe the many ways science and the Bible agree — revelations that thoroughly demolish the widely promulgated myth that Christianity is the enemy of science, and vice versa. In fact, there is nothing science has yet discovered that contradicts the Bible. Period.
Nowhere is this extraordinary, fundamental alignment more evident than in our growing understanding of the origin and nature of the cosmos. As we head into the new year, here are three scientific/Biblical revelations I pray will remove any doubts you might have about your importance in God’s universe.
Revelation #1
For the longest time the modern scientific consensus was that the cosmos we see today is the same that has always existed and will always exist. No beginning, no end, just the same ol’-same ol.’
By the 1950s, that consensus was radically and unexpectedly discarded. For the first time in its history, science aligned with the Bible by conceding the cosmos did indeed have, as Genesis reports, a definite beginning.
Revelation #2
Following the first revelation, the new scientific consensus insisted the event that triggered the birth of the cosmos — the so-called “big bang” — was completely random. This implied that the resulting cosmos itself was random in nature; it might’ve turned out very differently than what we see today.
On closer and closer inspection, however, cosmologists made a bombshell discovery. It now appears that, against all odds, the cosmos is perfectly designed for life. Far from being random, the cosmos appears to have won the lottery, with numerical vital statistics that are neither too large nor too small, but just right.
Revelation #3
Beginning in 1970, when Frank Drake (a member of my PhD thesis committee at Cornell) led Project Ozma, scientists have been diligently searching the cosmos for signs of life. Most recently, the searches have recruited the help of super-powerful telescopes such as the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes to comb the universe for direct and indirect signs of life.
But guess what?
Despite all the false alarms — including the infamous Mars rock story I covered for ABC News — and the relentless scientific hype and wishful thinking about organic molecules in space and on asteroids, and about exoplanets and exomoons that “might” or “could” have life, and the never-ending sightings of UAPs … to this very moment, as I write these words, we have zero evidence of actual, bona fide, extraterrestrial life. I repeat, zero.
Also, the more we search and come up empty handed, the less likely it is that such life exists. This diminishing probability can be calculated using Markovian and Bayesian statistics. According to one statistical analysis by researchers at Oxford University:
“We find a substantial probability that we are alone in our galaxy, and perhaps even in our observable universe.”
Perhaps 2025 will be the year we finally find ETs somewhere out there. That would be exciting!
But for now, what science has discovered is this: It appears the universe is not just designed for life, but specifically and perhaps exclusivity for life on Earth — for you and me.
That’s how important you are.
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14

DR. KIRBY RUNYON
Kirby is a space geek who followed his passion for the cosmos and earned a PhD in planetary geology. He now works as a research scientist for the NASA-funded Planetary Science Institute. Not content with just book knowledge, Kirby is also enthusiastically involved with space tourism, working as a zero-G coach and reseller for the Zero Gravity Corporation. His calling as a lifelong follower of Jesus is to seek God’s love and the power of the Holy Spirit, as well as to show off God’s glory through the lens of space exploration.
BREANNA JONES
Breanna is a fifth-year PhD student in biochemistry and molecular biology at University of California Riverside. She studies the role of RNA-binding proteins in mosquito reproductive development, using CRISPR-Cas9 and RNAi technologies. Her aim is to work in genetic testing, helping cancer patients get personalized treatments. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and playing Dungeons and Dragons with her friends. She also enjoys reading and gardening, as well as spending time with her family and cat.
